Roasted Dinner

We decided to have a “roasted dinner” night. We made a campfire and then roasted all the things we were going to eat. Can you guess what we made?

For dinner we roasted……….

And then for dessert we roasted…….

(and of course made Smore’s)

It was the perfect ending to a fun summer day. Roasted dinner was a big hit.

Cooking over a campfire / backyard fire pit is the best !! Hot dogs taste so much better. Silas, you are doing a good job waiting for your hot dog to cook.

You’ve given me a great idea for dinner tonight. Grampa loves sitting by our fire pit, and he loves hot dogs. So we’ll have a roasted dinner tonight, too. Thanks !!

How did you edit the photo so the fire is in color while the rest is gray tones. Did you use layers?

Nonna: sydney wouldn’t sit still. She had no patience for roasting. She tried to eat her hot dog raw and then ran off with her marshmallows. They never saw the fire. hahah

Nana: did you guys roast hot dogs? it reminded me of when we used to go camping.

Becky, we finally had a roasted dinner on Sunday night. We cooked hamburgers over the fire pit. Dad preferred ground beef to hot dogs. Then we watched the fire. It was so relaxing. Thanks for the idea

Your cooking hot dogs and marshmallows also reminded me of our family camping trips. All the wonderful meals we made over the campfire – and popping corn in the shaker basket. It’s fun that you can do the same thing in your backyard.
