Paper Bag Turkey Hats

We made the cutest Thanksgiving themed hats last week, and I wanted to share it with you all.
My Kids Make Turkey Hats, and yours can too! Get gobbling….
Items you will need:
brown paper lunch bag
construction paper
glue
stapler
Draw a bunch of feathers on construction paper in various colors (red, yellow, orange) and cut them out {our feathers are about 8inches long, to give you an idea}.
Draw a turkey head and upper body on construction paper and cut that out {Ours is 9″tall. } Here is the picture of the turkey head/body we used, if you want a pdf of the file to print yourself, click on the link below. Make sure you cut along the dashed line which is shown in the image. This will make 2 flaps which you will need when gluing the turkey onto the bag.
Cut out a 1.5inch strip, starting from the bottom of the bag and stopping 1.5inches down from the opening of the bag. There should be a small square flap on the end with the opening. Your bag should look like this below:
Now, its time to put the pieces all together and assemble the turkey hat! Slide the feathers just into the opening of the bag and then staple the bag shut. Staple enough to hold the feathers in place, as well as seal the bag from opening. Keep the small flap on the bag pointing down, this will be the bottom of the hat.
Now, take the turkey and fold one of its flaps to the right, and the other to the left. Glue these flaps to the bottom rectangle of the bag.
You now have a turkey hat! Open up the bag and place it on your head!!! You will have little turkey’s running around your house, just like I do.

LOVE THIS! I’m having lots of kids coming through the house on Thursday. It think I’ll get all the parts ready so each kid can make their own hat if they like. Thanks for sharing.
