Created By Silas: Pear Smoothie

8 Mar

Here it is: Silas’ latest recipe.

This was actually his second attempt at this smoothie. The first he said was “ok” but he had to tweak a few things.  This one, he said was “perfect”.

My Kids Make a Pear Smoothie, and yours can too! Find out all about it:

Here are the ingredients that Silas wanted to use in his smoothie recipe.  We got them all out, lined them on the counter and then started throwing them into the blender.

Blend, Blend, Blend.

And, the final result: YUMMY

Have you ever let your kids come up with their own recipe?  I was a bit fearful at first, wondering what type of creation Silas would want to make. I had flashbacks to my own childhood when I would “make” recipes.  I specifically remember a favorite “kool-aid” recipe I created:

  • 1 Cup of Kool-Aid.  Add in chocolate syrup, M&M’s and a crushed up cookie. Mix. Then drink.

Yeah, I know. I had a slight sugar problem. But, I turned out ok. And your kids will too. Just let them experiment a little. They will LOVE it!!! Seriously, I STILL remember the things I came up with when I was little.  Give it a shot and ask your kids to come up with a recipe. See what they say and then make it with them!  One of two things will happen: It will be disgusting {like my kool-aid} or it will be great.

Either way you will have fun with your kids and they will learn to experiment.

Let me know how the creations turn out. I would love to hear all the great things they try!!!

    Silas – you’ve created a great smoothie.
Your writing is so good on your recipe list.
You and Sydney look so happy drinking your smoothies.
Having a bendy straw makes it even more special.

    Love you all,

Wow, sounds yummy. Good job with the recipe Silas, you are good at writing the words. Are you making a cookbook too? I hope so, then I can have your recipes! xo
