Watermelon and Corn-on-the-Cob Cupcakes
21 Jun
Summer foods are a big hit in our house.
Watermelon = Yum

Corn on the Cob = Yum

After seeing this picture taunting me from the cover of Women’s Day Magazine {as well as in the “Hello, Cupcake!” cookbook, and on Martha Stewart}, I decided it would be a fun project to try with the kids.
After showing them the picture, and hearing lots of cheering, we ran to the store to buy the color appropriate jelly beans.

Inspired by the idea of Corn-on-the-Cob cupcakes, I thought it would be fun to ALSO try making a WATERMELON cupcake.
My Kids Make “Watermelon and Corn-on-the-Cob Cupcakes” and yours can too! Check out the pictures…..
Get our your cupcake pan and bake up a batch of your favorite cupcakes.
{We made yellow Gluten Free cupcakes.}
Then frost away!

After you have frosted the cupcakes, start loading on the jelly beans:

The end result is adorable and almost too cute to eat.

And here’s a nice slice of watermelon, perfect on a hot day:

Welcome to My Kids Make. I'm Becky, mom to 2 cuties, Sydney and Silas.

Looks so yummy, and so much like the real thing!!
For a long time I have felt as though “Cupcakes are great, but they would be even better if there was something even sweeter on top than just a bunch of frosting!” Thanks for figuring out such a wonderfully beautiful answer to my problem.
That is so cute! How did you get your kids to do that and not just eat the jelly beans? (smile).
What cute cupcakes.
Grampa calls them “cute-cakes”.
Jelly beans are his favorite candy.
Combining them with a cute-cake is a great dessert for him.
Because of your great blog, I’ve got so many cute photos of Silas and Sydney for each month of the year.
Thanks so much !!!
Oh my! How fun are these??? And your kids are ADORABLE! How cute are they???
