Watermelon Sorbet

15 Jun

Summer days are warm and wonderful and have a way of making you want an ice cream cone. What’s a kid to do when they don’t eat dairy?

Have some sorbet!

My Kids Make “Watermelon Sorbet” and yours can too! Cut up some watermelon and get started!

Watermelon Sorbet

  • Combine in a pot over medium heat until dissolved:

1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar {you could easily do less, say 1/4 cup}
1/4 cup lemon juice

  • Cut up 2 cups of watermelon and place it in a blender {remove any seeds}. You want 1 1/2 cups of juice when you are done.
  • Combine the watermelon puree with the sugar mixture and let cool in the fridge for about an hour.  Then pour the mixture into your prepared ice cream maker and mix away!

Then, kick back and enjoy the warm summer day!

    Oh those cute little faces, with big brown eyes, eating their yummy sorbet. I just want to hug Silas and Sydney.

    The sorbet looks yummy.

    Looks so yummy. I have had my eye on one of those ice cream makers. Maybe it’s time to go pick one up!
